Oh dear, guess I'm out of luck then??

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jht...

Men surveyed claimed that "blue eyes" was the most important attractive aspect in a woman? Along with long blonde hair. And a salary between £10,000 to £20,000.

So does that mean they would turn down Catherine Zeta Jones? Or Salma Hayek? Or Eva Longoria? Or Monica Bellucci? Or Shilpa Shetty? Or Halle Berry? Yeah right . . .

As a traditionally Celtic-looking Welsh lass I have dark brown eyes and long dark hair. Guess that makes me totally hideous, eh?

Who did they survey? Members of the White Aryan Nation?

BTW I already have a man who loves me as I am, it just amuses me to read these stupid statistics. . .

So men, are you totally digusted by any women who doesn't have "blue eyes" and long blonde hair?? And if you do, is your name A. Hitler by any chance?

Oh dear, guess I'm out of luck then??
Dark hair and brown eyes win everytime, as you should well know Lady M
Reply:erm - people are in-titled to be attracted to who they want to be.

this is only what they may prefer - for example: i prefer men with blue eyes. but my guy has green eyes that i love etc. Doesn't necessarily mean they dont like brown eyes at all, just they like blue eyes better. that's all.
Reply:I have dark hair and have had blonde, none have affected me in any way,,,sometimes the poor blondes get a beating in these questions though just for being blonde.I dont think any smart person that is serious about a partner is tooooo bothered bout hair colour.
Reply:There seem to be a lot of stupid / totally fabricated statistics. I think that I could reject the null hypothesesis and say 78.9% of statistics are whatever the statistician wants them to be.

Ask Brown - he fiddles them all the time.
Reply:ah i don't think thats true hun! i got long blonde hair and green eyes and some of my friends are dark and we get equal amounts of attention from men when we go out. Its personal preference on the individual, i know lots of men who prefer darker features x
Reply:It's all bullocks. One mans meat is another mans poison.

And how about the other way around. I find fair headed blue eyed men, washed out and uninteresting to look at.

And "blonde" British women, lets face it, get it out of a bottle.
Reply:You already have a partner, Lady M, so be happy with what you have.

It seems that the men surveyed for this were drunk or national front members. And I woudn't date either even if a gun was put to my temple.
Reply:my GLW is a green eyed redhead

as you raise the ghost of uncle adolf, let me paraphrase

Mr W Churchill

there are lies

there are damnable lies

and there are statistics

beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and is more than skin deep
Reply:well there was a survey on here and brunettes won hands down, i have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes i was blonde many yonks ago and i certainly didn't get anymore attention.
Reply:Surveys are rubbish. People tend to stick to the middle option as the safest.

Us Welsh girls are gorgeous regardless!!

If looks over-ride personality then the men are shallow anyway.
Reply:Anyone who doesn't find like you because they don't like your eye colour isn't worth you wasting your time on. Ignore them.
Reply:I have blonde hair and blue eyes and have all my life wished I had dark brown eyes, I think they are much nicer than blue, but as long as I can see well with my blue peepers im not too worried
Reply:dont worry chuck

those are the opinions of only 66,000 men polled by ukdating.com

theyre hardly likely to be well-heeled studmuffins are they lol

the colour of a girls eyes is not the first thing i notice if im honest
Reply:People doing surveys fill them in themselves cos they can't be @rsed doing the work and you end up with stereotypical results.True.
Reply:Never trust these surveys.

I mean if a chick got decent legs whose going to check out her eye colour?

If she's got a tight bum I don't care how much she earns.

Never trust surveys.
Reply:i dont believe in half of these so-called made up surveys.they did not ask me so it is just a minority survey that does not reflect on all of us.
Reply:Don't be silly! I think that all women should be judged on there own merits.
Reply:Personally i prefer dark skinned and haired girls
Reply:My green eyes and black hair have never been a problem.

You're right - the statistics are stupid.
Reply:It's a load of rubbish.
Reply:Lol...guess that leaves me out too...brown eyes %26amp; long black hair!
Reply:Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I love dark, cuddly women, you can keep your stick insect models with pale features, half of them don't even know how to smile!

As for surveys you get the answers you ask for. It is quite difficult to design a survey that actually gets unbiased results. I know because I sometimes have to write real survey questions.

If you ask "would you date a blond" you will probably get a high + result. If you then ask " do you like women with long hair" another big + so already we can conclude that most prefer blonds with long hair?? Only if we are ignorant. The words in the question, the order of questions and of course the sample surveyed all influence the result. Even the questions that should have been asked but were not make a difference.
Reply:Similar surveys have been done on women. And as with those, I hate the sort of language that media outlets use to present the information. "Perfect woman", "key attributes"; did they really say this, or did the men just sign up for a survey not knowing the contents, and state their preferences from what can only be assumed were multiple choice questions?

Some of these are wildly hypothetical. 54% would not date a woman who earned more than £25,000; yes, I find it quite sad that over half of all men are intimidated by that. But who states their salary whilst chatting, or on a first date? How often do you hear of people being dumped because they have revealed their pay?

Someone said that most of the men on here said that they prefered brunettes - in fact, in polls I've seen on here, it's like 90%. This is only because this forum is populated by pseudo-intellectual whipped males who'd do anything to appease women, who they assume think "stereotypical male" whenever a guy says he prefers blondes (incidentally, this IS a stereotype). I prefer blondes with short hair, slim but not skinny women, I value intelligence, dislike anyone who labels themselves a cynic (find it patronizing to me and immature), don't mind an introvert, don't need someone who loves pets or children, and don't care about money; although none of these have ever impeded me in finding someone attractive, nor have I predominantly dated women who have these characteristics.
Reply:I'm attracted by eyes i must admit but i usually prefer dark brown eyes as i find them more interesting to look in!

Does that mean i'm the odd one out in our society?

Don't trust the survey as they probably were being racist
