Would you change it?

The President of the United States earns about $250,000 a year while the president of Ford earns some $2,000,000. Do you believe these salaries are what they should be? If not, what salaries would you recommend?





This is a survey type question.. i'm just curious. i'm not trying to make a "statement"

You're comparing a position within the government (regardless of the fact that it is the highest office in the land) to that of a private business ?? Federal, state, and local government positions will always pay their employees less than a private/profit business. Of course, I'm referring to positions which hold considerable responsibility within both organizations (federal govt. %26amp; Ford Co). The reasons for this are quite obvious (COUGHS....government offices/agencies are non-profit; in other words.......they don't sell sh*ty American cars). However, they do ask that you please buy those sh*ty American cars. So, I guess this just makes for another stupid survey question...HAHA.

Reply:The presidents perks are pretty good. Plus, the retirement package is unbelievable.
Reply:You have to have SOME sort of education and modicum of knowledge to run a huge corp like Ford Inc.

Reply:I think "W," makes plenty. He makes a lot more than the 250K, as most politicians do. In either case both are making a lot for not being able to stay within a budget.

Reply:Yes I would. If congress can give themselves pay raises, why not the president.
Reply:they should make the national average, whatever that is.
Reply:Bush makes a lot for doing NOTHING. He should not get as much as he does. Ford is good.

Reply:I am sure that our presidents probably don't spend a dime of their own money while they are in office. Everything is given to them I would think.

Reply:the founder of ford, Henry Ford, worked hard all his life to produce a business and offer a product and service to people. He laboured day after day to start something from nothing. The president of america told a couple of lies to the commonfolk and got elected. see what I'm getting at here!
