Average Grad Salary in UK?

Just strarted aplying for jobs about 2 months ago, salaries seem to vary alot!!!! Looking at a few areas, and realise that salry will vary wildly dpending on the industry and the level you have to start at, availability of positions etc etc, Just wondering what salaries some recent grads are getting? Prospects website and surveys done by sites like that are v misleading and not i find representative of avergae slaries, think cos theyre skewed by some top end grad scheme jobs like those in law etc.

Average Grad Salary in UK?
I used to live in the UK, and I agree that there is a great range of salaries for similar jobs. Therefore, I think the best thing to do would be to calculate what is actually a reasonably good and workable salary. let everything that doesn't conform to that fall by the wayside.

If you want to have your own house, you are looking at a minimum of £600 per month for mortgage repayments, including the necessary insurances with that. Running a car will cost you at least £200 per month if you own it, groceries and food will be at least £300. Utilities will be about £100 if you are careful. This gives you a bottom line of £12.000 per annum net - which means you will probably need a minimum of £ 15.000 gross per annum to be able to live like a human. 20k is considered on the way to a better life, 25k is nice, 30k is what some people will never make in their lives, no matter what qualifications they may have.

Depends though, 50k are possible if you're a professor, doctor, or senior banker.
