10) if you could be apart of any NHL team, and be a player, GM, head coach, owner and etc, and win a stanley cup. which team would you pick

1-10 how would u rate this survey

give a reason why for your answer if u want to be considered for 10 points

Hockey survey?
1) before more physical it's because ballet on ice which pleases some and gets new fans (who often just like the fights) into our sport but most passionate fans prefer a hybrid style of physicality and finesse.

2) Montreal and Toronto. it's a Canadian game, and the national sport there, not a regional sport as it is in most parts of the US.

3) Joe Sakic although he's not what he used to be, he still has immense skill and dedication to the game and to the city he plays in. and this coming from a Canadiens fan, to praise a former Nordique captain is beyond praise. (though off subject: it's as if a Red Sox fan were to answer a survey similar to this on baseball and answer Derek Jeter)

4) yes otherwise teams like the Red Wings and Rangers will keep trying to "win" cups rather than earn them. I realize some markets are more "marketable" and "desirable" than others but again, although a Canadiens fan, as a French speaker I was and remain disgusted that Lindros was able to refuse to play in a French speaking city such as Quebec .. i mean you don't hear of a Quebecois or European refusing to play in an English speaking North American city, they adapt as well as they can, culturally and linguistically. It should be mutual.

5) centre ice. press box you can see the game develop but from centre ice you "feel" as though you're on the ice though that's really if you're in the first couple rows like I was at the Bees game tonight!

6) yes and we have "Ice Girls" at our local arena. one of them goes to my school ;)

7) tie between Joe Sakic, Saku Koivu and Mike Modano. too close to call.

8) I like the idea because many of the skilled players these days are European and it would be nice for them to return home and thank their loyal fans who helped them develop. but each team would have to make lengthy road trips for it to be worthwhile otherwise for say, Vancouver to travel to Prague for 1 game then fly home, would be torture. likewise if the Moscow team were to go to Dallas for just one tilt.

9) wherever the Montreal Alouettes play these days. I am pretty sure it's an outdoor venue and having lived in Quebec (though 10 years ago, so my memoire is vague) I can tell you all about the passion that nearly every Quebecois has for this great game of hockey.

10) Canadiens or Blackhawks. it's a tough choice since I am part French and part Indian .. and French speaking .. though a friend of mine used to play for the Hawks and my brother went to school in Chi-town .. this is a really tough one to answer.

1-10 i'd give it a 9 you bring up some good points and don't ramble on, you got to the point pretty much right away on all of them. hope you get some feedback, feel free to share it with us.
Reply:cant get any hockey on my tv, cant give opinions
Reply:1) after, more dangles

2) Ovechkin and Crosby

3) Pavel Datsyuk

4) None

5) Press box

6) It depends wither their hot or not

7) Joe Thornton even though he's only an alternate

8) No we should leave the euro teams alone plus it's nice to have leagues with different styles of play

9) I don't care I live in Houston I wouldn't be able to see it anyway

10) Minnesota
Reply:1) Before.

2) Flames/Oilers...well, when they're both contenders.

3) Doesn't really matter to me; a game is a game.

4) Apples and oranges to me. I do kind of miss the old days of teams buying players, but the cap is also interesting in its own management sort of way.

5) Can't afford neither.

6) No. They look bloody ridiculous.

7) Sakic.

8) No.

9) Montreal. First organized indoor game was played there, so a professional outdoor game should be played there as well.

10) My Leafs.

8 - Pretty good.

Because it's me?

2) Anaheim and San Jose

3) Joe Thornton

4) no salary cap

5) center ice seats

6) no cheerleaders (to girly)

7) nash

8) no

9) san jose... hp pavillion

10) San jose

i rate this survey a 8

because the sharks rock
Reply:This should be fun!

1)hockey after the lockout or before, which do u perfer

Probably before as I have not been as much of a fan since the lockout of 05. Plus too many good oldies went to waste during the lock out.

2) which is the best rivalary in the NHL and

Today? not sure. In the past, the Oilers Vs the Flames. If ever there were too teams and too cities that hated each other, that was it. The even coined "the battle of Alberta" because Edmonton and Calgary the cities already have a rivalry, putting it on ice in the 1980's especially just made us hate each other even more.

3) Which player in the NHL would you pay to see live the most

Today? Sydney Crosby

Yesterday? Certainly Wayne Gretzky with Messier and Kurri.

4) salary cap or no, which do u perfer

Absolutely love it! It's allowed small market teams the ability to compete with monsters like Toronto and New York!

5) press box or center ice seats

Ice seats behind the bench.

6) should there be cheerleaders in a hockey game

NOPE!!!! They have their place in Basketball and Football but at a Ice Rink they just look cold.

7) who is the best captain in the nhl

Jason Smith (Flyers) The Oilers were stupid to trade him away.

8) should the nhl expand into europe

No way! That would suck and make it so all the European players (especially the good ones) would play in Europe to be closer to home.

9) if you could pick where the next out door game should be held at, which stadium and city would u pick.

Probably Toronto Vs the Rangers at the New York Jets/Giants stadium.

10) if you could be apart of any NHL team, and be a player, GM, head coach, owner and etc, and win a stanley cup. which team would you pick

Any team? Past? Easy. The Edmonton Oilers during the 1980's and or the Montreal Canadians during the 1950's. I'll take to being just a shoe lace on a skate.

I rate it 9.5! Good survey!
Reply:1) After the lockout. Because that's all I've ever seen.

2) Either Avalanche-Redwings or Canadians-Leafs. Avs-Wings because I'm an Avs fan, and Habs-leafs because it's classic

3) Tough to say, maybe Ovechkin, although I've seen him and I didn't have to pay any extra.

4) I like the cap, keeps everything more even.

5) If by press box you mean upper level seats I like upper level seat the best. I think you can see everything better, and there's more die-hard fans up there, down low there's a lot yuppies.

6) No way should there be cheerleaders in hockey. I hate it when teams have them. If you want to see that sort of stuff go to a nightclub.

7) Joe Sakic. Most respected guy in the league right now, class-act, great player.

8) I'd rather not see them expand to Europe. I think the travel would really take it's tool on the players, as well as there would always be games on at weird times.

9) I guess I'd pick Denver, my hometown. At Invesco Field. Just because I think it'd be cool to have it here. Althougth the weather might be an issue.

10) Of course I'd pick the Avs, because they're my team. I can't wait for them to win another Cup, and I hope I don't have to wait too long. Other then them being my fav team I can't really give a good reason. I just love the bunch of guys we have on our team right now, that's all.

I give your survey 9.70 Because it's pretty complete and it was fun to answer. ;)

2) Not sure. Islanders/Rangers is pretty intense

3) Ovechkin, Brodeur

4) Salary cap, but higher

5) Center Ice

6) No!

7) Mats Sundin, Nicklas Lidstrom

8) No

9) Montreal, with the Rangers VS Montreal

10) The Devils :-)

8-no more expansion ever!!!!

9-wrigly field would be cool

10-vancouver canucks my heart and soul need a cup just one
Reply:1) Hockey before the lockout. The game is full of gimmicks now.

2) Toronto and Montreal

3) Alexander Ovechkin is the most exciting player to watch

4) No cap. The Leafs would do far better without it.

5) Press Box

6) No

7) Joe Sakic

8) No way

9) Wrigley Field

10) Toronto would be my choice. Whoever brought them a Stanley Cup would be a hero.

2) Detroit and Chicago, anyone who has ever experienced can easily understand why. The passion is immense in both towns.

3) Ovechkin, kid is fun to watch. Good hands.

4) Salary cap, makes the game strategic at all levels.

5) Center Ice, gotta experience it up close.

6) If they're cute, why the hell not lol.

7) Yzerman was for so many years, not sure who I would say right now. Lidstrom does a good job picking up where he left off.

8) No, travel would be too difficult.

9) Soldiers Field, Chicago. A lot of history there in an original six city which is currently falling in love with the Hawks all over again.

10) Chicago Blackhawks. Would love to wear the Indian head sweater.

Survey: 10, Important questions for the NHL right now and they really make you think.

8)

2) Being a Wings fan, i'd have to say Wings Vs. Colorado, or Wings and Chicago...But now it looks like Wings and Ducks.

3) Do you mean the longest period? Or in the NHL, I would've liked to see Yzerman live longer (in the NHL)

4) doesn't matter to me

5) Center Ice seats

6) Nooo...godd noo

7) Nick Lidstrom

8) Why not?

9) I would like to see it in Detroit

10) lol My favorite team

7- it was fun, and i was bored
Reply:1) after the lockout. cuz i didnt watch hockey before then. im a terrible person and i live with this on my conscience everyday!

2) i like when the wings play the ducks and the preds. i know its not the BEST rivalry but its the only ones i know!

3) well. considering ive paid tons of money on holmstrom crap. ive gotta go with holmstrom. although he likes to get hurt right before the games im going to see him in. like, i dont know, now with this stupid groin injury when im leaving for nashville on the 19th. if he's not back for that game i swear to god i might flip out.

4) although i hate the salary cap the NHL needs it. i hate to see some players get underpaid for some superstar when they're out there pulling their weight but... its what works.

5) center ice no question. i dont like sitting in seats where i dont have the chance of getting knocked out by a puck.

6) im a lady. ladies dont like watching other ladies in short skirts jumping and clapping. LOL so no cheerleaders!

7) o captain my captain.. will always be stevie y. other than that i gotta go with mister lidstrom. he's the man.

8) no way jose. going to europe and back sucks. even though i love europe its just not practical. i wouldnt want them to have to go through all of that travel! that'd take a toll on your body. but i like opening up the season in europe. thats pretty cool.

9) ...somewhere with the red wings. they were talking about a wings vs hawks outdoor game. dare to dream...

10) surprise surprise i'd kiss the cup with my red wings!
Reply:1) Before- I am sick of these "touch" penalties being called. Too many penalty shots being awarded also. Eliminating the red line was a good idea though.

2) Islanders-Rangers. While there are longer ones, since the 1975 playoffs these two teams truly hate each other. The feeling between the fans is the same. Rags fans still chant "Potvin Sucks" 20 years after the guy retired.

3)Jarome Iginla- Great scorer, team leader, and not afraid to drop the gloves and mix it up.

4)Salary cap. Keeps smaller market teams from getting trampled. Unfortunate that it took canceling a season to get it done. Can you imagine what Ovechin would have gotten if it wasn't in place?

5)Center ice right on the glass. I always wanted to bang on the glass when the ref is there.(Unless they are serving free beers in the press box, lol)

6)NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I think that covers it. They would wind up blocking the view of the game anyway.

7) Iginla- see number 3, same reasons.

8) No. There are so many Euros in the league now, why travel all that way to play? Now if they set up a separate Euro league and call it NHL Europe, it might work. But don't have teams here go there.

9)Islanders -Rangers at Yankee Stadium before it gets torn down.

10)Since I'm an Islanders fan, I obviously would go with them. it would be good to undo all the damage that Mike Milbury did to the team when he was GM.

Rate it an 8. While many of these questions have been asked before separately, some are still relevant.
