Question about Carpenter salary?

My school has a 1-yr wood technics program. After every class they send out surveys to the new grads to find out how much they are making. I was looking at it, and the range was $1100 on the low ind to $9300 on the high end!

What accounts for such a discrepancy in salaries? Who would be making so much with only a one yr diploma? Do certian carpentery positions pay more?

Thanks for any information!

Question about Carpenter salary?
I know if you join the Union they can pay alot of money it depends on the State but some of the Union jobs pay $50 an hour, if you work for a contractor you may not make that much.

Journeyman make the most and if you coma right out of school you have training and you can try and get Journeyman status. I believe the top paying carpenter in Kansas would be around $40 an hour but you have to be there awhile thats not a starting wage.

Hope this helped
Reply:The more experience you have, the more construction companies want you, the more money you earn. Also, the low end may be teenage workers who don't necessarily work full time, so they earn less
